Summer Run - 3900 Horeses

Right before Ramadan.
It was humid and good for our babes to suck the moisture in the air and cool our turbos and thirsty hot horses.

This time I was a little bit far to go home again and get my car, and the guys wanted to go at night before sunrise.
So I had to ride with someone.

I was lucky enough to end up in the GT2 RS this time, and to actually take some pictures in motion.

Every now & then we get new cars in the Runs. This time was the most outrageous car ever built by Ferrari so far, The 599 GTO.

It looks better in real life than in my pictures, and because I don't wanna show the drivers.

We reached our destination, Starbucks ra77al. Or as we call it Starbucks leb3eed :P (The far Starbucks).
As you can see, this better than travelling and looking for scenes to shoot. I can shoot when the guys are up for a RUN!

The Car..

You're looking now at one of 599 cars in the world only.

This is like Victoria's Secret models having a "Girls Night Out"

Almost 3900 Bhp parked. Like 3900 horses compressed!

This one is made especially for iPhone lovers as a wallpaper,

Enjoy!

Porsche owner turns long driveway into racetrack

I don't want money, I don't want fame. I just need his house.

In Kuwait, Baladeya will come and remove your track because in Kuwait you're not allowed to have a pool! a tree or a fountain in front of your house! so a track will make them go crazy of course.

I really was having fun watching this video so many times. thinking to buy a farm and do it!

Enjoy!

Porsche GT3 RS MK II Track test

Here is The Stig doing what he was created to do. Testing cars

I was so blessed to have two of my friends to buy the new GT3 RS mk II or as they call it 997.2
It is the second generation Porsche GT3 RS from the 997 range.

It is said to be the best car Porsche ever made for a track use and also can be used for grocery.

Some of the differences from the 997.1 GT3 RS

More power (14BHP more)
RSR Front suspension
Titanium Components (Exhaust)
Wider front track
String door pulls
Shorter gear ratio
almost 12000 kd extra on the original GT3

For some people this is the same car they used to look at, but for the Stigs, this is a different beast.
So we traveled to Bahrain to test our cars in the Track. And this guy insisted that I take a spin in his Porsche.

It was the first time for me to drive the GT3 RS ever, and the first time to drive on the inner circuit, which is the new part of the circuit where it has more curves and shorter straights.

So I took the car for a warm up lap, test the gears and take up the tires to their optimal temperature for a better grip. I got to know the track also during this lap.

So, Out of the pits, a bit nervous, it is not my car. and I am driving with people I don't know in a track i have never explore. for the first time ever.

The only comfort I had is that I was stranded with a 5 point seat harness.
Traction Control On.
Suspension set up to Sport.

And here we go.

The gear has a very firm, short shifter and it feels so precise. and the clutch travel was weighted and not heavy as I was expecting. and the gear lever goes exactly where you wanted to be.

I was having so much fun turning left and right to warm up the tire. it feels like Formula 1.
I got to know the track, so in the last straight I kicked the throttle to the floor. And booom! I love normally aspirated engines.

Hard on the brake, Turn in hard and accelerate again.. You can easily measure how much throttle you're using and when to back up.

In any curve, with the tires hot to the max, you just turn the wheel and the car will go directly in the same line you have in mind. the steering is so accurate, and it transfers so much data int your palms reading every stone and giving you so much info on how the car is reacting.

The picture below : After one of the main hairpins, comes a 400 meter straight. In the GT3 I was coming out in 2nd and the Lambo was in first.
The Porsche is not the type of car to do well in a straight line as a car has double the cylinders and almost double the capacity.

but it was a win situation for me to keep accelerating next to him, because the GT3 has some advantages. it is super light weight car. which means I can brake so much later, and that's what I did as you can see in the last frame.

After few laps, The car messed my life. I don't think I am going to drive another car with the same level of involvement and temperament. The car has some racing characteristics that other more-powerful cars got.

Verdict : The car is a the fastest theme park on wheels. everything feels alive and agile.
No need for being scared of the overheating brakes and understeer!

It was made by Porsche Racing team for those who appreciate driving.

Enjoy!

Kuwait Rally 2011 - Thank you Zain

I would like to start this post by thanking Zain for offering me a Media and a VIP pass for Kuwait Rally that was held last Friday and Saturday.

I was having good time at work because it was raining and I LOVE RAIN. but I forgot that I have to go and cover the rally!

So I arrived to Holiday Inn Salmiya to cover the press conference. and I was amazed to see Mohammed Bin Sulayyem, the ex-rally driver and several time champion of the Middle East rallies.

And Also Nasser Al-Ateyya from Qatar, The Champion of Dakar Rally last year and the new dominating champion across the middle east and Africa.

There were also one Kuwaiti lady with her Co-Pilot along with other women participating in the rally. which is nice to see something new and that the motorsports are not only for men.

I loved the banner from Zain for Twitter, Very creative :P and I do follow them because the send a lot of promotions and updates in regards to their products and services.

Car Zero/Zero, means that this car will go and roam the rally track before any of the rally cars can start the stage. to make sure the field is empty and clear.

When the press conference was over, everybody was going outside to see the start and waiting for Sheikh Ahmed Al-Fahad Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah to come and annouce the start.

It was raining cats and dogs and even cows. it never rain in Kuwait! but once there is and outdoor event, it will rain 100mm :/

I was wearing a rain jacket, but I was worried about my babe! my camera was exposed. I managed to cover it with jam3eya plastic bag!

And then, out of the sudden! my friend came with an umbrella! and I was saved.
KTV3 presenter was next to us wearing Deshdasha and totally wet. and their umbrella kept breaking down every time. so he ended up standing under ours!

Finally the Sheikh arrived and we all stood up for the national anthem.

Wait for the Next Post!

How Red Bull built the Formula one car ?

Instead of taking the overly technical route, the Red Bull boys have gone a bit "old-tyme." Their film manages to be entertaining and interesting, which is usually a hard task to accomplish with something like this.

It is really amazing how they make a car that weighs less than 600 kg and still able to create this downforce.

Enjoy!

2012 GTR Vs. Z06 Vs GT 500

I was never a fan of the GTR, but I admit that it is one damn good car to drive and perform. I have been in the car, and seen why it gets good reviews.
Because even if you are dumb and can't drive a manual transmission! You still won't worry because the car will do everything for you. it feels ROBOTIC.

The Corvette on the other hand sounds nice, looks good and for a country like Kuwait where the price of fuel is still cheap, you won;t worry about a 7.0 L infront of you drinking your money! and it perform well if you know how to shift properly. it has few problems, but the it is the cheapest fastest car.

The GT500  looks mean and sounds furious which is an added value in my point of view, But it is a ford! and affordable and! well this time Ford did it well, But can it compete !

Watch and see for yourself!

Bahrain - Open Track Day - Our cars at the track

Today is the big day..
The reason why we travelled all the way from Kuwait.

This is our third time in Bahrain.. at least for most of us.. and some of us driven also in other tracks around the globe.

So taking pictures of new stuff was never easy, but it was nice capturing moments and show you how we guys spent a safe day while driving full throttle all the time.

This an open event to all the people from everywhere, so it was not like Gulf Run where
they reserve the whole track. so we share the track with everyone else can pay the entry fees :/

which is dangerous to drive next to armatures doing 260 km/h on the straight then braking all the way to 50 in 150 meters!

One of the pictures I like. every driver keeps the helmet on the top of his car. so cool!

During our open track day runs, there were 3 Porsche Cup doing some testing for the next season. it was fun driving next to professionals and watching the lines they take in every bend. but It was impossible to compete with them.

Very crowded corner!

Bahrain - Open Track Day - Karting

The first night after we had a short nap.
we decided to go out to eat something.

The weather was cold overall, and it is not usually the case in Bahrain.

One of the guys suggested that we pass by BIC to check the Go kart circuit they have, we did not actually plan this! but it just pop up like any other idea!

I was trying some features in my new camera with one of my friends by taking pictures in the dark, for quick objects like the go kart cars with no flash. but using high ISO ratings.

You can't imagine how fast this car is lapping the circuit, but I was still able to capture it with no haze and with a good exposure.

The guys decided to drive few laps and race against each others. I was having a slight headache and after driving all day from Kuwait, and not having a nap! i decided not to drive :/

Little briefing like a real race!

Yes, One Lap Difference.

Enjoy!
